E is for Excellence #atozblogchallenge
E is for EXCELLENCE!
Welcome to “E” day of the A to Z Blog Challenge!
Today’s topic is
E is for Excellence!
I’m going to borrow from a previous post again, from one I published back in February, because it fits so well here for this day’s post. 🙂
I dream of achieving excellence. The basic definition for excellence is “the state or quality of excelling or being exceptionally good” and demonstrating qualities or characteristics of merit and virtue. My dream, therefore, is to strive for excellence as a person in my various roles in relationship to others, as well as in my life’s educational and career goals. Closely related to this dream is my desire for excellence and blessing to enhance the lives of others.
As a daughter, I dream of one day seeing my beloved parents again, now that they have both passed on to their eternal reward with the Lord they served their entire lives – Dad on September 2, 2002, and Mom on July 7, 2011.
As a mother of four young adult “kids,” I, of course, want them to be healthy, and find happiness and fulfillment in their lives, whether that’s through relationships, friendships, careers, achieving goals, and/or any other worthy endeavors. I want them to reflect on the good memories, learn from the bad, and remember that even though I wasn’t a perfect mother, and their father and I divorced, I did my best and have always loved them and will continue to do so.
As a wife of a wonderful husband I was blessed to meet through online dating about 14 1/2 years ago, and with whom I celebrated 11 years of marriage in February, I want to be an excellent wife, companion, friend, and confidante. I haven’t arrived, and occasionally fall miserably short of fulfilling that dream, but I’m thankful for Dave’s love, patience, forgiveness, and commitment to me and our marriage.
As a grandmother now of three precious granddaughters (ages almost 4 months old, 2 1/2 years old, and 4 1/2 years old), AND another grandchild due in July, I want to watch them grow into strong, healthy, happy teens and then adults.
As a sibling, an aunt, and an “in-law,” I want to see my sisters, brother, and their families live happy, healthy, blessed lives in whatever way is meaningful to each of them. Likewise for my family members on my hubby’s side of the family.
As a friend, I want to see my friends live in good health, and find the happiness and provision they need and want in life.
As a lifelong learner, I want to finally achieve my dream of becoming Dr. Banks–one dream that’s within reach very soon! Then, I want to use that education and experience to enhance the existing body of knowledge regarding online education, learning styles, and curriculum development, and share my passion for learning with others.
As a freelance entrepreneur and business associate, I want to succeed in my business endeavors, and likewise see my fellow acquaintances and colleagues find success and prosperity in their respective businesses.
Others may dream of fame and fortune. If those ever occur for me, particularly in the form of paid-off debts and prosperity, I wouldn’t turn them down.
That’s because my hubby and I have two big dreams related to freedom from debt and increased prosperity: Move (back) to New Hampshire and find a nice home with a couple acres of land in a secluded area.
The first part of this dream is to be back in NH near my two youngest daughters and their families (including the three granddaughters).
The second part of that dream is to run an animal rescue for primarily abandoned and/or endangered cats and dogs, especially those on borrowed time in “high kill” facilities.
So What About YOU?
Do you dream of excellence for yourself and your loved ones?
Are you taking any steps to achieve any of those dreams?
