Three Things Thursday: Assessing, Blogging, and Commenting

***3 Things Thursday***

3 Things Thursday

It’s Three Things Thursday once again and time to share three things I am working on today – and they just happen to fit the ABC pattern!  🙂

*ASSESSING*  As in, writing assessment questions for a client. Trying to finish up this project with this client, because I want to get paid AND I have NEW clients and work to do! 🙂  (AND sewing projects!!)

This process of writing assessment questions involves the following steps:

*Reading the accompanying passage.

*Gleaning key points and crafting questions that require some amount of critical thinking (not simple yes/no or basic multiple choice or matching).

*Providing the correct answers and usually three or four alternate possible answers (in other words, no give-aways or obviously wrong answers) per question.

*Developing the rationales; in other words, instead of simply saying the answer is correct or incorrect, providing some additional details as the rationale for the correct response, and some clues to the correct answer without giving it away for the incorrect responses.

*BLOGGING* Well, obviously, right? 🙂  It has helped a bit by having a daily theme, like today’s “Three Things Thursday.” It helps me focus more on what to post about, especially if my brain is feeling a bit foggy. On my Words of Encouragement blog, I share (usually) daily devotional thoughts, so that is also more concrete.

A new strategy I think I’m going to try:  getting my blog posts ready the night before, so I can just review them in the morning and publish them earlier. Then I can visit my blogging groups on Facebook to share them and get a jump on my THIRD thing …

*COMMENTING*  Finally, I have been working on catching up with commenting on blogs. One of the benefits of participating in blog groups on Facebook is the opportunity to share blog posts and both give and receive views, shares, and comments in return. I know I truly appreciate all those who take time to read, share, and comment on my blog posts, so I am striving to reciprocate (but I’m a bit behind  – thankfully, I have started using a notepad to track my groups and comment threads!)

The same goes for here on this blog, and my other blog, Words of Encouragement. I likewise need to start replying to all of you who leave comments here, and I confess I haven’t been good about doing that. Just another thing to work on!

  …  …

So What About YOU?

What are you doing this Thursday?

Do you have a strategic plan for the day?

I love putting aside some time for commenting on blogs, it allows me to try and catch up on what else is going on in the community which is lovely.

I’m writing a new blog post today. I always try to keep 20+ drafts ready to go. I need to work on replying to comments on my blog.

This Thursday is all about accounting. Getting closer to some major financial decisions and just making some adjustments to my budget. Oh and you’re so right about commenting. As a blogger, I enjoy seeing people comment on the posts I put so much work into writing

My plan for today is to get my work done and then pick up my family and spend time with them tonight.

Wasn’t sure if my comment went through or not but I am working on some accounting stuff today. I have to make some adjustments to my budget as I have a conference coming up and a cruise and a few other things coming up. Oh and I agree with your thoughts on commenting on blogs. As a blogger I like seeing people comment on the posts I write.

I try to have a plan. It rarely works for me. Something always comes up that has me scrambling around for the day, but I try again! I try to get my blog posts done at least the day before.

I go in waves about commenting on blogs. Sometimes It is something I really focus on and sometimes I am just too tired. 😉

I think I could improve on a few things. I need to get better about interacting on social media.

I am finishing up client work and then want to dive into a post for my website. My site seems to get neglected every now and then, however, I am working harder to posting daily.

    Hi!
    I love your theme today!
I think I over strategize sometimes.
I am one of those people who have multiple LISTS.
They help me stay organized for sure.
    What am I doing today?
Commenting on awesome blog articles like yours and promoting a new article I have on my blog.
I post four new articles a week and leave Fridays open to catch up on emails, do those things on my LIST that I have not completed, and read to learn new things.
I also try to take some of the day to just unwind from the week.
Thursdays for me are exciting because I know I have more or less a day off the next day even though I do still work lol.
Your first “thing” sounds interesting. Sort of cool and exciting but also could be a challenge.
You will get it all done I know it.

I think the strategy of preparing posts the night before is a good idea. That’s something I need to do more often.

I like your goal of getting your blog posts done a night before! I try to do as much work as I can in advance – it really does help in the long run!

I have been trying to finish my blog posts ready the night before. I always feel better knowing it is done and I just have to post it in the morning.

Blogging communities are such a great resource for information and support as well as reciprocating the support. I normally schedule my posts so I have time to reciprocate in blogging groups

I always try to keep a plan. Running a blog take so much work. From blogging, commenting, responding to comments, taking care of recipes, etc. it’s a full time job.

I haven’t been able to get my groove back in writing a blog post since our vacation. You inspired me to get it done.

Blogging is definitely a lot of work. I have a lot of friends who talk about how they want to start a blog, and I don’t think they realize how much of a commitment it is. You really do have to keep up with posting a lot and networking.

I think putting some time aside a few times a week to interact with other bloggers is huge! It’s great for your business, and meeting others is always fun. Loved this!

I usually do my posts the night before too. And yes, I totally need to catch up with commenting too! I think it’s so important that if someone takes the time to comment then I should respond!
