Serenity Sunday in the Garden

Serenity in the Garden

Welcome to the first Sunday in September! Here on my blog, it’s Serenity Sunday! And as I sit out in our garden on this beautiful day with my hubby Dave and our three dogs, I figured what better post to write than one about serenity in a garden! All the photos are from our own gardens. The quotes are from the Brainy Quote site, on gardening topics.

“A garden must combine the poetic and the mysterious

with a feeling of serenity and joy.”

–Luis Barraga

“A garden requires patient labor and attention.
Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions
or to fulfill good intentions.

They thrive because someone expended effort on them.”

–Liberty Hyde Bailey

This quote is so true! I give all credit to my hubby for his focused effort and labor in doing the majority of the planting and tending to grow and maintain the flowers, veggies, and other plants we have enjoyed this season.

“There is nothing I like better at the end of a hot summer’s day
than taking a short walk around the garden.

You can smell the heat coming up from the earth to meet the cooler night air.”

–Peter Mayle

So what about YOU?

Do you think a garden brings serenity?

What other location or activity do you find peaceful and serene?

I like to walk through my garden in the evening as well. So calming and satisfying. Love working with my hands.

I always say my mom was into gardening but I don’t understand a bit. But I love looking at it, reading about it.
I love the pictures you have added here.

Oh wow your garden is just beautiful. I love sunflowers so I was especially happy to see one in your garden. I wish I had a green thumb but I do enjoy being in a garden just reading a book or sipping a glass of lemonade.
