My own personal “Blogathon” is on for the last two days of May – yes, I can! I can and will finish this series on Preventing Procrastination, Prizing Prioritizing, and Pursuing Purpose – especially this third and final segment on pursuing purpose. Thanks so much to all who have followed along, read, and commented… and if you’re just stopping in for the first time, you can catch the very first post in the series here: May Do-Over: Procrastination is a Barrier.
This post is the second of four on the topic of making THIS day different than yesterday in regard to pursuing our purpose. The previous post was on Deciding to Live Differently. This post is focused on:
*Giving Praise and Achieving Victory*
There is so much power in being positive and thankful, even in the midst of difficulties. Whether you consider it positive thinking, expressing gratitude, or stating daily affirmations, I personally believe God honors the concept behind the Law of Attraction because it closely aligns with multiple scriptures about the power of our words.
Believing and speaking positive rather than negative thoughts and words over our lives and the lives of others will go a long way toward attracting positive rather than negative things into our lives. Taking the positive path, rather than the negative, also provides strength to overcome rather than be overwhelmed by circumstances.
That, in turn, will help us as we continue our journey to pursue purpose in our lives. Choosing to give praise and express gratitude even in the midst of difficult circumstances opens the door to achieving victory.
Once again I would direct your attention to these words excerpted from one of Joyce Meyer’s newest books (published in April 2014), entitled You Can Begin Again [and I repeat, this is NOT an affiliate link–I do NOT profit from mentioning or promoting her books!]:
“I want to encourage you to develop a life of praise. Regardless of what you are going through today, find something to praise God for.
You may be on top of the world…well, praise God! Take time to worship God in your quiet time for all of His blessings.
Or you may feel like the world is on top of you…well, praise God! Keep worshipping God for His goodness even when it feels like you are in a dark circumstance…find the good in every situation, and praise God with all of your heart.
Your praise is the path to your victory.”
So what is the next step in pursuing our purpose? Make the decision to focus on the positive, be thankful and express gratitude even in the midst of difficult circumstances, and keep moving forward.
Do these concepts and quotes resonate with you? Can you relate? Are you prepared to move forward by focusing on the positive along your journey toward victory in your life?
