Finally Friday – Pondering Changes to Improve Quality of Life

Would You Change

Anything in Your Life?

Cross-stitch piece made by my mom-in-law

Well, I missed blogging yesterday, due to other obligations, and I found myself pondering the concept of how our plans  change, often either with or without our full agreement! Then I recalled this interesting question that came up in a blog challenge one time:

If you could change one thing about your life right now,

what would it be?

I’ve pondered this, and it’s difficult to choose just ONE thing…but I do know one area that would in turn help improve other areas in my life.

The one thing I would like to change at this moment would be my health; improving my health would include:

*Losing weight to reach the healthy level my doctor has recommended and then maintaining it.

*Managing asthma, allergies, and all respiratory-related illnesses.

*Managing hypothyroidism and all its related issues.

*Managing age-related issues more effectively, such as menopause, lack of focus, and distraction.

I think these health-related changes would vastly improve my daily life with higher energy and production levels, and not only help me have more motivation, but also act on it. Above all, I want to be more successful in finishing what I start, meeting deadlines, and fulfilling expectations.

I believe a change for the better in my overall health would facilitate a higher rate of success in my personal and professional life…not to mention, keep me around longer for the sake of my husband, kids, and grandkids!

So What About YOU?

What’s one area in your life that you would like to change?

How would it help you?

  1. This is a tough question! I think I would have to agree with you though and change my health because so many other changes would fall into place once my health was a priority.

  2. I want to become a morning person. Up until now I still have a difficult time waking up in the morning. 🙂 So this is definitely a priority if I am to change something about myself.

  3. A couple years ago I went through a massive change and my life has been a million times better since, and it’s interesting because I am not sure I would change anything at this point because I love where I am and have worked hard to get here. That said I still have a direction I am working towards so I am not done yet! I think knowing where you want to go is so important!

  4. If I could change one thing in my life, it would be that I won’t be an unwilling recipient of my family’s illness genes. Whether I like it or not, avoid it or not, I know, somewhere down the line, I am going to develop a chronic illness just like my parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.

  5. Like you, i am working on managing my health by exercising and cutting down on how much sugar I take in. It’s quite the challenge but some days are easier than others.

  6. I really enjoyed this post and the quotes you shared. Choosing one thing I’d like to change at this moment is tough, but if I had to pick it would be being happy in the moment. I often worry too much about the future and get worked up on it. But it’s important to live the fullest in the moment you currently are in.

  7. There is this other statement, “the only constant is change” I believe we are all continually changing, what we do, when we do and also how we do. Your question of change makes me think what kind of change you had in mind. Most of the replies are just acceptance, change is a willing mind set shift. One can choose to change your mind and in return change the situation. Never the less a interesting topic.

  8. I’ll be honest, I’ve made a conscious effort to really better myself in the past few months and I love it. I have been exercising consistently, eating right and working hard. It’s not easy, but the payoff is big!

  9. Such a hard question to answer! For me, I’d like to keep up with my motivation. My motivation comes in waves- and if that was consistent- other things would fall in line!

  10. To be completely honest I want to change how much I let things build up instead of dealing with issues as they arise. I had a discussion with a close family member the other day and finally let some of my frustrations show. Which left him mad and he rushed out of my home – leaving me feeling terrible!
