I’m participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge again, since it helped me get started on blogging regularly LAST year and I needed the motivation to get going with it again THIS year. I was happy to use today’s suggestion to talk about online retailing sites such as Etsy.
I admit to being rather biased, since I’m an Etsy seller already. Etsy truly is a great site, though, if you want to sell your handmade items. You can set up a shop for free and only pay a minimal fee when you sell an item. I used to sell at a certain large site, but it got to the point where I was paying more in fees than I was keeping as a profit.
Let’s face it, that’s the idea when you sell anything, whether it’s freelance services or handmade items – you want to make a profit! Etsy makes it easy to do so. Whether you would like to learn how to sell at Etsy or want to browse and/or buy any of the wonderful handmade items there, pour yourself a cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa, and enjoy the site.
On a related note – regarding handmade items – I mentioned in yesterday’s post that part of what I’m doing for myself this year is FINALLY making a quilt block a day, based on Nancy Martin’s 365 Quilt Blocks a Year Calendar. I have managed to take pictures of the five I have made so far, and uploaded them to my computer – but didn’t quite have time to get everything set up on my OTHER blog (I actually had a productive day working with my major client) … so I’ll have to ask any readers who are interested to check back in tomorrow, and I’ll share the link to that other blog where I plan to journal this adventure.
As a teaser – this is ONE of the five blocks – also my favorite so far:
